Global warming, a term intented to elicit feelings of guilt and trepidation in the masses
July 2, 2008
Everywhere I turn, I hear talk about the looming threat of global warming and how we are heading towards dangerous climactic times. It seems like global warming is the scapegoat of the hour. My question is, “does it really exist?” How long will the media focus on this ‘story’.
I can remember a few decades ago, the only thing I was hearing on the news was the term ‘acid rain’. All the school kids were doing projects on the subject. Can you remember the last time anyone in the media or your circle of friends used the term ‘acid rain’? And what about the gigantic hole in the ozone layer?
Now The Globe and Mail is insinuating that global warming will have disastrous effects on food supplies (and this is before things start to really get bad for humanity).
“How global warming goes against the grain
MARTIN MITTELSTAEDT – From Saturday’s Globe and Mail – February 23, 2007 at 9:18 PM EDTThe place where most of the world’s people could first begin to feel the consequences of global warming may come as a surprise: in the stomach, via the supper plate.
That’s the view of a small but influential group of agricultural experts who are increasingly worried that global warming will trigger food shortages long before it causes better known but more distant threats, such as rising sea levels that flood coastal cities.
Something just doesn’t seem right about the global warming frenzy. Could it be a cash grab? Another method to manufacture fear? A tool utilized to facilitate a hidden agenda?
Soon enough, global warming will be forgotten and replaced with a new global menace. Although the headlines may change, the strategies involved in the manufacture of public fear will remain consistent.
Makes you wonder doesn’t it?
